We are happy to welcome parents, learners, teachers and all stakeholders to Cedar Mountain International School (CMIS) and to invite you to share in our aspiration “To be the leading School for academic excellence, and training and development for life.”

CMIS is a Christian faith-based private School located within the Adenta Municipality in Accra, Ghana, and offers both the Cambridge Assessment International Education and the Ghanaian Educational Curricula. The School currently admits children from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 6 for the 2019/2020 Academic Year.

In the 2020/2021 Academic Year, CMIS will be open to admit its first set of students into Year 7 to begin the preparation towards the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE/O Level).

Our target is to obtain 100% pass rate in the BECE exams in 2023 and IGCSE in 2025. Therefore, everything we do now and are doing now is with these expected outcomes in 2023 and 2025 in mind.

We have a supportive environment that ensures our learners and teachers experience success every day. Our priority is on achieving academic excellence and skill development for lifelong learning, Christian nurturing and character formation, as well as ethical awareness for our students. We aim at having learners who demonstrate the following attributes (ref. Cambridge Assessment International Education):

  • Confident in working with information and ideas – their own and those of others
  • Responsible for themselves – responsive to and respectful of others
  • Reflective and developing their ability to learn
  • Innovative and equipped for new and future challenges
  • Engaged intellectually and socially, ready to make a difference.

We share the believe that the primary through to the Secondary School (High School) years are the most formative of a child’s life. These early years can breed intellectual apathy or curiosity to seek knowledge.

Our added aspiration is to nurture an environment marked by creative, social, and emotional development, and characterized by a lifelong love of learning and the joys of new, diverse friendships.

On a daily basis, we also work to nurture an environment that fosters close learner-teacher relationships for mutual fulfillment.
